Isaiah 55:

“Come, all you who are thirsty,
    come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
    come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
    without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
    and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
    and you will delight in the richest of fare.
Give ear and come to me;
    listen, that you may live.
I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
    my faithful love promised to David.
See, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
    a ruler and commander of the peoples.
Surely you will summon nations you know not,
    and nations you do not know will come running to you,
because of the Lord your God,
    the Holy One of Israel,
    for he has endowed you with splendor.”
Seek the Lord while he may be found;
    call on him while he is near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
    and the unrighteous their thoughts.
Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them,
    and to our God, for he will freely pardon.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
    neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
    so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
    so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
    It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
12 You will go out in joy
    and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
    will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
    will clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper,
    and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.
This will be for the Lord’s renown,
    for an everlasting sign,
    that will endure forever.”

God promises all that we need for life and godliness; with no exception. And when the Bible says all  that we need, it means... all ! Our good and gracious Father does not give us a little sliver of grace for obedience, and then leave us exhausting ourselves in futile attempts to draw strength from the well of self-effort. He gives the full measure of grace needed to victoriously live the Christian life, not just sometimes, not just when our “if only” ideals become reality. Right now, in your current situation and season of life, God has made available to you all that is needed for glad obedience. It is when we are relying on our own strength and power to obey, and not on the power of Christ, that we find ourselves failing and faltering! It is then, when we are tempted to shift the blame for disobedience onto our circumstances; it is then that we insist that we would obey “if only”. If you are not giving out of your little, you will not give out of your plenty. God d...
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. Dear children, let US not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth .  This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence whenever our hearts condemn us.  For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.  And THIS is His command: to believe in the name of His son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He commanded us.  Those who obey His commands live in Him, and He in them.  And this is how we know that He lives in us: We know by the Spirit he gave us. 1 John 3:16, 18-20 How do we set our hearts at rest in His presence, even when our hearts seem to condemn us?  Love one another.  Not with words or tongue, but wit...
Some of my many random thoughts tonight, after skimming through old website bookmarks... PRAYING THE WORD FOR MY HUSBAND I love structure and I love God’s Word. Put the two together and you have a beautiful thing when it comes to prayer. Here are seven Scripture-based prayers you and I can pray to God on behalf of our husbands. That he would be given the STRENGTH he needs to fulfill his mission. Mighty God, grant my husband courage and the ability to find His strength in you. I pray he would not fear nor be dismayed and He would remember that You are always with Him. Holy Spirit, strengthen him with power his inner being. (Ephesians 3:16; 6:10, Joshua 1:6-9) That our MARRIAGE would be strong. Jesus, show my husband what it looks like to love me as you loved the church. Help me to love and serve him with a submissive and respectful heart. (Ephesians 5:25-33) That he would THRIVE in his ministry and personal life. I pray that he would be rooted and g...
