I will praise the name of God with a song;
I will magnify him with thanksgiving.
This will please the Lord more than an ox
or a bull with horns and hoofs.
Let the oppressed see it and be glad;
you who seek God, let your hearts revive!
What are God's demands? What does an all-sufficient God, who owns and controls all things, demand from the creature he has made? His demand is great, but it is not that we be great, but that we cease to be great in our own eyes and become small that he might appear great. "The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise." "It is not the well who need a physician but those who are sick." Jesus has nothing to do for those who insist they are well. He demands something great: that we admit we are not great. This is bad news to the arrogant, but words of honey to the oppressed who have given up their charade of self-sufficiency and are seeking God.
For by such he will be found; and he will pour into their empty hearts such a love as they have never known. And there will arise freely and joyfully a sense of gratitude so genuine and so visible that God will be greatly magnified as the merciful giver of everything we have and are.
Ever since the creation of the world, his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So men are without excuse for, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks. (Romans 1:20, 21)
Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is in me, bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits. (Psalm 103:1, 2)
May all who seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee.
May those who love thy salvation say continually,
"Great is the Lord!" (Psalm 40:16)
O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together. (Psalm 34:3)
Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say evermore, “Great is the LORD, who delights in the welfare of his servant!” (Ps 35:27)

They choose holiness, not out of any compulsion, but from the influence of a new nature, which leads them to     rejoice in holiness       just as naturally    as before they delighted in sin. God neither chose them nor called them because they were holy, but He called them so that they might be holy, and holiness is the beauty produced by His workmanship in them. The Christlike qualities that we see in a believer are as much the work of God as the Atonement itself.  Thus the fullness of the grace of God is brought out very sweetly... The believer's privilege is a present salvation; the evidence that he is called to it is his holy life."

I haven't a voice the past three days (which said days included new years at the Robinetts - I talked zilch, laughed too much =P).  Yes, yes... I have a cold.  I've learned a couple things after losing (and somehow maintaining the fact) this voice of mine: 1) I talk more often than I should.  My lack of being able to express myself has shown me how often I shouldn't. 2) I need to think more before I express myself.  I tend to throw so much out there, speaking my mind when others may just (gasp!) actually not want to hear it.  Humility, Anna dear.  3)  I'm really grateful I have a voice.  When I do have one, of course. My thought process right now: 1) I need to go do something useful and worthwile. 2)  I need to be journaling here more often... cause I've gotten way out of the habit, and I have sooo many thoughts I want to write down every morning I read during devotions.  I need to make this a bigger and better priority in my life than...
